How do i know if therapy is right for me?

If you are seeking support in some way, you have already taken the first step in exploring if therapy can be helpful for you. Finding a therapist that you connect with is important, which is why I offer a 15-minute consultation to discuss if we may be a good fit working together. If I cannot provide the support you are looking for, I am happy to provide referrals to other providers that can offer the support you may need.

i think my child needs therapy but is not open to it. how can i support them?

There are times parents observe changes in their child’s behavior and feel they would benefit from therapy, but their child is not open to it. For this reason, I work with parents to support their children, even without the child’s participation. Each of us exists within a family system, so even if a child is not open to therapy, changes in parenting style can still create significant changes at home.

can i use insurance to pay for therapy?

While I am an out-of-network provider and do not accept insurance as payment, I am able to provide documentation to clients that can be submitted to insurance for reimbursement.

What ages do you work with?

At this time, I see clients ages 10 years old and up for online sessions. When working with younger clients, I also work closely with parents to support the work clients and I do in our sessions.

What is the fee for your services?

My fee for a 50-minute individual therapy, family therapy, or parent coaching session is $220.

How often will we meet?

While the need for therapy can shift and is different for each person, when starting off meeting with clients I meet with each person 1x per week. As our work continues, we can modify this frequency as needed.

How long do sessions last?

Telehealth sessions last 50 minutes long. If this length of time is not ideal for your child, we can make modifications as needed.

Is what we discuss confidential?

What we discuss during our sessions is confidential. If you would like me to discuss with other providers, I will have you sign a release of information to do so. There are some exceptions to confidentiality, such as if a client indicates they are at risk of harming themselves or others. We will further discuss exceptions to confidentiality during our intake session.
